I cannot believe it has been 10 years! It almost feels as if it was just yesterday I was going through infertility problems. Even wondering if I would ever become a mom. Yet here I am planning a birthday party for my 10-year-old. I’m sure my child is more concerned about his celebration and the gifts that he will be receiving rather than mommy’s emotions. 🙂 Mothers always want the best for their kids there is no question about that. However, as a working mom, you are torn between how can we make this event efficient and simple, and at the same time fun. My son chose to have a Jurassic World birthday party theme.

So I went to my favorite online places to buy the rest of the favors one being Amazon, the second being at Educents. I ordered the invitations from Etsy. Although, I used to be really dedicated (insert wink) took it upon myself to design most of these on my own. I get so excited about their children’s party these are just what I have done for the first few years. Can you imagine all that time? However, now I have discovered the tools to make things more efficient and my life easier.
Etsy is a marketplace where you can choose the themes.
It really allows you to customize what you want for a fraction of the cost as well help you save your time so you can spend those precious moments actually spending it with your family or whatever matters most. They do have a lot of digital downloads. So soon as your order you will receive your design right away. This saved me a lot of time where I used to spend an hour or two maybe, even more, staring at a blank document trying to design my own invitation. Now it’s just a matter of choosing the design ordering and customizing it.
We ordered his Jurassic World birthday party cake from a local grocery store. As a 10-year-old (going on 40 plus), he is reasonably independently making choices. He selected a white cake with cream cheese filling and cream frosting. We are glad it all matched with his party theme.
Decorations and Party Favors
The Jurassic World birthday party won’t be complete without the decors and party favors. Along with it including the table cover, plates, napkins and balloons were from Amazon, which is really convenient.
I downloaded some dinosaur printables and taped it to the walls to make for a Jurassic feel. We also opted to have his birthday party at the ice-skating rink. Previous birthday parties used to be our house, and it was really stressful pre-cleaning the home and getting it ready for the party having the actual party and then cleaning up after it was an all-day affair. Now we have opted no more birthday parties at home.
For our boys’ parties are now at an outside place. This year’s 10-year-old birthday party is spent at an ice-skating rink.
My 10-year-old is born an old soul. So it has always been challenging to pick presents for this little boy. Now even at 10 years old, he has a mixture of request and wishes as far as what type of gifts he wants. We opted to get him something educational and scientific. He has always been a fan of the “do your own experiments at home packs.” There are quite a few in educents. He wanted the ant farm and a ladybug land. Why not? We figured it would be an excellent educational present for him as he is fascinated by lifecycles of ladybugs and ants (do you think I have a future Entomologist?).
Another birthday present that we have decided would be a subscription box from green kid crafts.
It would be appropriate for as a present for a little boy. He does not know it yet. But he will be receiving a surprise package every month containing steam projects and an experiment that would surely capture his attention. In addition to all these educational and STEM gifts, he did receive a couple of Jurassic World toys (can’t have him growing up too fast and too serious). These gifts are what the and his little brother are both really excited about.
All in all, I’d say the Jurassic World birthday party was a success.
After all, what matters is that it was a fun party for everyone. The attendant complimented us saying our party was one of the organized ones he’s seen. We even received a compliment from the attendant that our party was one of the organized ones he’s seen. All the parents were happy to see and get to know each other. My kids and all their friends were all safe and had a great time.
Since we spent his Jurassic World birthday party outside our home; I wish I had a checklist of what to bring for birthday parties. This checklist would have been a time-saving and a great idea to avoid the last minute running around. So here I am. Sharing with you a list of what to bring; if you were going to spend your child’s birthday party outside the home. I hope you find this valuable for your future parties.
